Managed by the Shangri-La group, the Aberdeen Marina Club is a private club with hotel quality service. It can accomodate weddings of up to 600 people in one of its many function rooms. The Grand Ballroom has spectacular views of the pool and the marina, and is ideal for grander events. In the cooler weather, the Marquee (above) is a popular choice. Set outdoors, it’s available from November to the end of March and is set out in the back by the club’s swimming pool. It fits 300 for a standing cocktail reception, or about 140 for a sit-down dinner. Unfortunately, you’ll have to get your schmoozing shoes on, because if you’re not already a member of the club, you’ll have to book through one.
